Maria Bampali (b.1998) is an artist and writer. She was born and raised in Athens, Greece, and now lives and works in London. Currently, she is studying the MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths, and received her BFA from Central Saint Martins (1st Class Honours) in 2021.
Her practice, primarily centred on painting and its expansive forms, examine subjects related to fragments of memory, place and reimagining notions of cultural heritage. Through a poetic and lyrical mark-making, Bampali crafts subjective narratives that flow amongst the personal, speculative, and imaginative; to find comfort between past and present; the native and everyday.
